This
box was a wedding gift for a friend of mine. It is made entirely of imbuia, which is a beautifully varied
and very fragrant wood. I left the interior untreated for that
reason. The frame & panel construction is a traditional form used
to allow wood movement in doors and large solid wood surfaces. Of course, that sort of construction isn't really necessary for a box this size, as the seasonal wood movement doesn't amount to much when the width is only 5".
